Riverside Walk
From GORWEN there is a pleasant walk into Kendal along the River Kent...
Turn right into Burneside Road and walk under the railway bridge...
...then turn left into Dockray Hall Road just before the Magistrate's Courts - the start of the footpath is at the far end of the road on the right.
The path then follows the river...
...to a green metal bridge (seen here in the distance)
At the green metal bridge, either:-
+ FOR THE RAILWAY STATION: Turn left and, keeping to the left side of the road, follow the road (Station Road) round to the right, past Atlantis Cleaners and up a slope next to the Budget Exhaust Centre to Kendal Railway Station which has trains approx. one per hour in each direction - to Windermere and Oxenholme (for the main West Coast Main Line);
OR
+ FOR THE BUS STATION: Turn right into Sandes Avenue then left into Blackhall Road. The bus station is in Blackhall Road on the right adjacent to the Westmorland Shopping Centre;
OR
+ FOR THE TOWN CENTRE: Cross the road and continue on the footpath on the other side which takes you to a stone-built bridge. Turn right and continue uphill for the town centre.
